DIN 12-point bolts
DIN 12-Point bolts (German Industrial Standard 12-spline external-drive bolts, also called Vielzahn or double-hex) cover the German and broader European industrial market in metric thread profiles M5 through M30. They are widely used in European industrial assembly, German motorsport (Volkswagen, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-AMG race programmes), Japanese motorsport and any drawing originated to ISO 261 / DIN 13-1 thread standards because the metric joint expects a metric fastener and a metric thread engagement. DIN 12-point bolts are typically produced in grade 12.9 alloy steel (1040 MPa proof, 1220 MPa tensile), with grade 10.9 (830 / 1040 MPa) and corrosion-resistant A286 / A4-80 stainless variants stocked for OEM-spec applications.
